Batur Mountain is
located in Kintamani Village, Bangli Regency, it’s about 90 km or 2 hours from
Ngurah Rai International Airport. Batur Mountain is 1717 meters from the sea
level
and Batur Mountain is the second highest mount in Bali after Agung
Mountain. Batur Mountain has erupted 26 times since 1804 and last occurred in
2000. If you want to see the best view on the top of Batur Mountain, you must
start to hike on 3 A.M and you need hike for 3 hours until you reach the top.
Before
you start to hike, you must make a report to staff Batur Mountain on monitoring
post and you must pay Rp. 10.000,- per person without a guide, if you hire a
guide, you will pay the extra charge Rp. 200.000 per group. If you never hike on
Batur Mountain, you must hike with the guide, it’s for your safety.
And then
you must prepare the items for hiking, like Jacket, glove, shoes, scarf.
They’re for protecting you from cold weather, and then the flashlight and snack
and drink.
When you reach the top on 6 A.M, you will see the amazing sunrise,
this sunrise is different if you see from the beach. Sunrise on the summit of
the Batur Mountain is very beautiful. And then you can see beautiful scenery of
Kintamani Village, Batur Lake, Abang Mountain.Beside the monitoring post,
Batur
Mountain area has many facilities such as, parking area, public toilet, and
warung on the summit. Warung on the summit has many menus for the climber like
hot coffee, hot milk, noodles and many more. So don’t worry if you feel hungry
and cold.
You don’t only see that view, after you come back to monitoring post
in the morning, you will see other views, first you will see green landscape, and then you will see the monkey activities,
shrubs and onion farmers who are working. So, you will not be sorry if you
climb the Batur Mountain and it will be an unforgettable experience in your
life.
